The transition

In high school, I made posters and school spirit stuff to unwind. Leadership class was super stressful, and I would reward myself by painting masterpieces on large paper, or graphic designing another sign.
My first year of college, I painted smaller motivational signs for myself, to keep busy when I couldn't sleep.
A few months later, I was diagnosed with a possible brain tumor. With a really high likelihood. So, as I waited for test after test, I couldn't sleep very well. One night, I got up and scotch-taped a bunch of printer paper together and taped it to the outside of my door, and began painting. Every night I'd add a little more, drawing interest from the neighbors.

Here's the painting that changed it all. It transitioned me from making art for myself and my therapy, to making art for other people's entertainment.
There's something rooted deep in all of us. For me, it's my family, my God, and my Art.
