Last night in town

One last chance to cause a little fun

I left my desk, lamp, chair, and math book down in the park.
Ahhh, Reaney Park. Spent SO much time studying down there. I'm glad my stuff found it's true home.

Props and Plug

Some background, first:
I'm going to take a moment and introduce you to a very good friend of mine, known as Nik.

http://nickolusmeisel.com/

In fact, that is his website, ^ feel free to click it, and check out his works.
This is probably the moment I began to like his work:

It was so impacting, I had a poster made of it.
Ignore that they are just yellow capped sewing pins in a chair with purple strips, and you might see what I see.

This is one of his recent installation works, down in Florida:

Brings me to:
And this is one of my recent installations, at his house, last night:

He likes yarn. And I like mimicking people.
As my last night in Pullman, I yarned his fence. (:<
That little ball of yarn, took an hour.

B&E in Mimosa!

In Pullman, at the beginning of Main St. is a very large abandoned building. I don't know when it was last open, way over 5 years ago. When you first come to Pullman, you might think it's a real place.

The outside of the building is starting to see some horrible wear. The city (or whoever's job it should be) has really failed at doing something with it.

A few weeks ago, my friends and I were walking back from the bar, in a jolly mood. It was freezing out, so we were playfully trying all the doors on the way home. We got to the end of the block, and low and behold, Mimosa isn't locked. I was freaked out. And of course, drunk, I explored it with the light of my cell phone. There are still pictures on the walls. Some dead rats. Holes in the wall. I think the wiring had been ripped out. Various tools, ladder, wheelbarrow.

Being Rant: Seriously people, all I'm asking is to do something with it. Aparently it hasn't sold. So, board it up. Take down the signs. Cover the windows. I'm this close to thinking someone should just burn it down. Downtown really needs standards. This building needs a scrub down. Pay some kids to trim the trees, wash the walls, repaint and sand it, wash the windows, clean out the inside and put some sheets or paper up until someone really wants to put time into fixing it, then do something nice to that huge wall that faces Taco del Mar. And for freakin' sakes: put some new locks on the doors! Some people are either going to start living them, or do more damage to the inside. /End Ranting

So, a little breaking and entering later, I put some curtains on the front windows, and some flowers in the flower pots. And washed the windows.

I'm really into the black and white, with red, yellow lately.
I've always been into red. So we got this red scraf midwindow going on because, in my mind, it's the red scarf the prostitute hangs in her window so her house won't be destroyed by God. (In the Genisis or Exodus, right before the fall of Jericho). Because I swear, all Pullman could hit the ground, but this stupid whore-house of a building is going to stand forever.

Take a look at the inside shot, as I explain the adventure part:

I am petrifide of spiders, to death, cardiac arrest style. And I KNOW this place was crawling in them, huge ones. I was in this building for about an hour, in the dark. I didn't even see anything inside till I took the pictures, and didn't allow myself to look at them till I got home, so I wouldn't freak out. Sometime in there, I got a good sized sliver. I took it out, and now it's pretty infected. I'll put so stuff on it, but first thing tomorrow, I'm checking when my last tetnis shot was. bleh.
